Preferential Voting Add-on

Lets refer to this feature as an 'election poll' to differentiate it from a normal default poll.

Election polls will need the following permissions:
1. Create an election poll.
2. View results menu.
3. View names within the results menu.

Election polls will have:
1- A setup menu, similar to a regular poll, where the creator can change the options:
  • Question
  • possible responses
  • Minimum preferences required (e.g. If there are 100 candidates, they must preference up until x /100 minimum to submit their vote).
  • Allow users to change their vote?
  • Close this poll after x

2- A box next to every option for players to click in order of their preference. If they click again on that box it would remove that preference.
3- Once the poll ends, it says 'this election poll has closed'.
4- People with 'View results menu' perm can see a table of results at any time by clicking a button. No auto calculation of results required due to complexity and the potential for the voting system to be changed in the future. The results menu would provide a pop out that contains a table of vote results.

I actually have something like this; https://atelieraphelion.com/products/vote-tally.58/

(It is contact to purchase due to some features being privately funded, and also it is relatively complex to get a community to use)

The big difference is it parses out the voting options out of replies rather than them being secret and has a variety of voting counting options.

Do you have an example of that running somewhere? I don't quite get how it works but seeing a thread where it's used should help.

It is used for "quests" where players vote for various options as sort of writing prompts to direct how a roleplay experience is directed;
