Browser issue Posting photos

Last night I could no longer post photos from a Dropbox account on XenForo message boards from an Android mobile device using the "Attach files" function. Now I can only do it through the "Insert image" function in the tool bars. Don't recall being notified that was changing. I use Chrome as my broswer on my Android phone.

That sounds like an Android issue, XenForo doesn't have any control over the file browser or upload options your device gives you, it's just a regular file input field.

That makes sense. Not having that issue on my desktop pc.

Try removing safari as your browser and use firefox

As @mattrogowski says, XF uses standard upload APIs so this is going to be down to a browser issue.
