Post Notification

Is it possible to set - by default - that every member is notified by email when there is a new post in the forum?

There's an add on called Forum Watch: http://xenforo.com/community/resources/bd-forum-watch.660/

It would need some modifying to enable it for everyone by default. Or, maybe people should just opt in?
