I have imported my SMF 2.0 forum successfully and am now looking at Permissions. I had multiple groups set up mostly controlling access to specific hidden forums. Xenforo has tried to import the permissions but the end result is pretty terrible (partly as the SMF permissions were pretty incomprehensible) and will require lots and lots of manual fixup to remove explicitly set permissions for the additional user groups.
What would be IDEAL would be for Xenforo to import the additional groups and their members, but NOT assign any actual permissions to those groups. It would then only take me a few minutes to set up the specific access required for the specific private nodes and groups.
Looking at the SMF.php importer code, I might be able to just comment out some lines to stop permissions being imported.
Any ideas or recommendations?
