XF 2.1 Polls in the sidebar

I like the idea of having some polls shown in the sidebar. Maybe have them randomised. Is it possible to do this?

Not saying I want the polls necessarily to show in threads.

Thanks for the link. I notice it says compatible with 1.5, but I have 2.1.

I've just posted a poll in my Site Suggestions section and would like that to appear in a widget. Is that possible?

Appearance >> Widgets, and place it where you like (most likely Forum list: Sidebar).

That's great thanks. What would be really nice is that it had some kind of rotation thing, where I can rotate or randomize from a set of polls. Currently, with my new board, I have about 5 polls running all at once. It would be great for that.

There might be a way to do this.

The system will let you create more than one poll widget. So you could create 5 widgets and assign a different poll to each. Next, you would need some code that rotated the 5 different widget IDs in that location.

Either that or you can suggest a random poll option in Suggestions.

It would likely be possible with a single/few lines of code calling the widget key directly with a rand function.

I have a poll set up and showing in my forum sidebar - but it does not allow members to vote from there - it only shows the options and vote tallies for each. Is enabling voting FROM the sidebar poll (vs. having to visit the thread) an option somewhere I've missed?
