Placing honeypots for spammers

I have signed up for Project Honeypot and entered the API key in the XenForo registration settings. Project Honeypot also provides detailed instructions on placing honeypots to catch spammers throughout your forum. I placed them in a few templates, but now I'm wondering if that will prevent the type of spammers that forum admins are usually fighting, i.e. forum spambots, as opposed to email harvesters etc.

Does placing these honeypots in XenForo templates accomplish anything?
