Piwigo, Gallery

There are lightbox options from the backend or via alternate themes, the exif data is toggle in the admin panel -

exif data is a very specialized thing, either you REALLY want it because it's a photography gallery, focused on the photography itself, or it's near total waste of time because the gallery is totally focused on the topic of the photos not the photos themselves.

Personally, our current main site is in the latter camp and using that much screen space for something virtually none of our members have any interest in would be a huge waste, but I think Exif data should one of the toggle options so that the admin can choose to show it or not.

EXIF data is really behind the scenes stuff for most sites.
When I go to an art gallery I want to look at paintings. I don't care what paint they used, I just like the paintings.
The most important EXIF data now might be geolocation !
More sites would use that than the pixel sizes.
