It's add-on send pings when only added new thread. If It's add-on will be popular, I could add sending pings when added anything (resources, pages, media vs.)

As far as I can tell, this does nothing on 1.4.7 ...
After installation, thread creation, no bot activity can be seen. None seems to be "pinged" ( difficult to verify without firing tcpdump)

Is an update needed ?

it does not. verified with tcpdump.
