XF 1.4 PHP expression

Is there a problem with using this PHP expression? It is creating an error in my logs but at the same time it seems to be working as a conditional.

$forum['node_id'] == 107

What is the context and what error is being thrown?

I'm using it as an expression in widget framework. I asked in the widget framework resource thread but nobody responds Is there a different conditional I could try that would have the same effect?

Like I said it works as the conditional I need only displaying the widget on node 107, but it's filling my server log with this error.

ErrorException: Undefined variable: forum - library/WidgetFramework/WidgetRenderer.php(498) : runtime-created function:1
