permission question

By default I am in a registered usergroup along with Admin and Moderators.
I set all usergroups except admin to only view a thread. No reply or post.

Now I can not post in that forum?

I don't suppose there is a way to reset all permissions to default.

In the Node Permissions you can edit any custom groups and set everything to Inherit to reset those permissions. But there isn't an option to reset all custom permissions at once.
