I would like to have the ability to have a Payment-option (PayPal, etc.) at the "Register"-page at which people have to pay a membership-fee when joining my Forum.
With PayPal, this could certainly be a one-time-fee or a recurring-fee or whatever.
This is common for certain types of websites (think of Matchmaking websites, certain business-related websites, etc.) and this will also prevent spam-accounts.
This idea is probably not in line with the general philosophy of "Forums" per se, but I think not every website needs to be free and also many fremium-models are dying off.
