Would these features ever be possible for when an admin makes a post as well? So users not watching a certain thread could then be pinged that may be part of a user group?

Now I just need to find a Global 'THREAD' addon too ;)

Can you retroactively alert on an existing thread this this? If not can one edit an existing thread to trigger an alert @Ozzy47 ?
 
It would be great if alerts can be sent inactive users as well so that when they get back online they can get the alerts.

Another addon would be greatly appreciated if admins or mods can send alerts to specific users from the frontend like from the gear icon along with other options such as: Ban Member, Spam, Warn, Edit, Shared IPs etc (Moderator tools).

So that admins don’t need to browse backend for the simple alerts. It will save a lots of time and hassle.

Two problems with that. It would have the potential to overload the alert table and XF clears out older unread alerts from inactive users.

I think sending a DM is the same thing really, and probably more effective to get one users attention.

There's a bug with this.

When I set global alert on a thread in a Suggestion Type forum see the custom field ozzmodz_send_global_alert embedded at the top of the thread.

I converted a thread to article and that's how it displays. Doesn't appear to affect article threads I had prior to the plugin tho (not that we have many).
