XF 2.1 Override phrase on a per node basis?

Here's what I'm after... using a combination of different custom forum fields I'm creating a node called "Events", the node will not be displayed in the node listing and will instead be accessible by a menu item named "Events", when viewing the node and when creating a new thread in the node I'd like to swap the word "Thread" for "Event" so, for example, the create button would be "Post Event" instead of "Post Thread", "Set Event Status" instead of "Set Thread Status", and so on.

Easiest way would be to edit the template(s) and use conditional statements targeting the node ID.
