Hello,
I had a question regarding plug-ins that are open source. Mainly can they be open source and to what degree. IANAL (I am not a lawyer) so I'm not exactly sure how this works, especially when it comes to something like forum software as opposed to compiled software.
In this specific case it's actually pre-written software that's licensed under the GPLv3 that is stand alone. I'd like to make it a xenforo plug-in to have better integration and provide some nice features. I'd necessarily have to keep the plug-in open source licensed under the GPLv3. I'm just unsure of whether or not this would create a conflict between the GPLv3 license and the xenforo license.
Any thoughts or suggestions would be very welcome.
Regards,
Astrum
