XF 2.3 Old links to domain that is serving malware

Hi,

my forum has a lot of old links to a site, what back in the days was a normal site. But they site stopped, and the domain expired, what only resulted in links not working. But recently the domain is active again and is being used for serving malware.

What options do I have? Manually changing/editing post isn't a option, there a lot of results. Ideally I would like to convert al links to that site just text, no url, so people still can use the archive sites to look at that old content.

Any suggestions? (when i search the topic, a lot results give me about rewriting, but i don't own the domain)

Easist way is to use Censorship

Admin >> Setup >> Censoring

Create a rule that changes the links.

Yes, but then people can't use wayback machine to view the original content. It would be perfect, if it would change the url to a text, and not a link.

One not so impressive way could be to just do a find and replace in database and convert all links to domain https://xyz.com to something like https://web.archive.org/web/20200000000000*/https://xyz.com.
