Official WP Integration and failure of 3rd Party Plugins

Understanding the world economic outlook of things is rough out there right now, and forum usage has become very niche, but still important for groups like us, I wanted to post this for consideration.

XFtoWP (https://xenforo.com/community/resources/xftowp-xenforo-to-wordpress-integration.8161/) , unfortunately, now seems to be abandoned, like a other similar plugins in the past. This is a shame.

We love Xenforo, and we have been using it for over a decade, but it cannot replace WP as a main hosting site. Many websites like ours (https://deadhaussonata.com/) require both WP on the front end, a forum, discord integrations for our community. Continuing to keep things up and running is difficult with constant failure of 3rd Party Plugins to survive.

Has Xenforo considered official integration to website hosting like WP, and other major front end website platforms? Perhaps a universal login/membership protocol to make this easier to bridge other platforms.

Surely, there is some solution to integration problems we and others are experiencing, that make some economic sense. As an example, having a Xenforo forum plugin on the WP marketplace would be a boost adoption for many groups.

The points you raise are either existing suggestions, planned implementation in 2.3, or not relevant as a suggestion for the core software (the WP marketplace plugin).

@Paul B Where do I post this then? Frankly, this makes it seem like Xenforo is not listening to move it so quickly like this and have a such a generic reason for the move. Having used the forum software for over a decade, I do think this is reasonable feedback and is addressing a short fall of software.

I think what Paul is trying to say is a few things-

Other people have added suggestions for WP integration. Starting your own suggestion here is a good idea, but it's best to support others' suggestions especially if they are seeking the same thing. Voting on suggestions is the right way to get them noticed by XenForo and aids in their determination. If they see one vote on a suggestion, then it's probably not a suggestion very many people want. But if there is one suggestion with a lot of votes, then that helps them gauge the projects their customers want them to focus on.

planned implementation in 2.3
Same idea but some of your ideas were suggestions from other users and were accepted and are in the process of being implemented. XF 2.3 is right around the corner, so you'll get some of your wishes pretty soon.

Due to the size of the XF developer team (this is a small company), their focus must remain on the XenForo product. Writing extensions for other projects, even if they are based in PHP, is typically not worth their time. This is why the only official integrations you'll find with other products are going to be the data importers, as this is intended to make transitions between platforms easier for potential and new customers.

ThemeHouse has some products for integrating XF and WP that may be worth looking into, and they often give away plugins for free with discount codes on their website. May be something worth looking into.

Thanks for the more detailed response/translation from Paul. As I mentioned earlier, this is a pretty bad interface for suggestions, as I should not have to crawl through the forums to figure out whether my suggestion is valid or not. Overall I feel disappointed but understand the business constraints of Xenforo, I wish it was better.

ThemeHouse group is awesome for sure, and so is their support.
