North Korea have landed on the sun . . . .

Thanks to Andy and the eTeknix website for giving me this giggle this morning. From what i can tell, this is serious news . . .

Apparently it took the 17 year old astronaut 4 hours to travel to the sun, which he did at night to avoid the deadly rays, nipped out to get some sun spot samples to take back to his supreme leader as a gift and is due back home tonight - an 18 hour round trip

Shouldn't laugh but.... yeah :D

I knew the North Koreans would accomplish such big task. Hats of to the Supreme Leader. After Dennis Rodman, I'm his best buddy (:

Isn't that from a satire site?
That was my first question too. Everyone I've asked and everywhere I've looked seems to be convinced that it's what North Korea news is claiming. Either way, it made me giggle.

The source for it is "Waterford Whispers News" at http://waterfordwhispersnews.com and the page title of the landing page is "Waterford Whispers News | Irish Satire News". Their site is currently down but you can see what type of stuff they produce on their FB page at https://www.facebook.com/WhispersNews.

Your Irish neighbors are just having a laugh. ;)

The sad thing is that even though this is satire, I could definitely see North Korea trying to pull this off. :ROFLMAO:

Hung is expected back on Earth in just a few hours time, where he will be greeted by his uncle, and supreme leader: Kim Jong-un.

... making it to the sun one thing, but making it back too ? Now that's going too far.

I bet they'll have some photos of the Sun Astronaut getting out a ship showing his burnt running shoes.
