XF 2.1 Non-existent usernames show up in suggestions when sending conversation

Hi,

A user recently contacted me asking why he couldn't PM someone when typing their username in the conversations box. Turns out, when the suggestions popped up he was clicking on a user that didn't exist (had a similar name to the actual user he was trying to contact).

It seems like the same thing happens here on XF.com:

I don't know if this is considered a bug - however IMO, it's pretty confusing to have that show up in the suggestion box when there is no user existing with that name. I would have expected it to show no suggestions at all - if there isn't any match for that user. Not sure if there's an option to disable this, I did a quick look through and didn't see anything, though.

The problem is that that field only suggests 'recently active' users, so it might not show an otherwise valid user. The users that are suggested do have an avatar, however, allowing them to be distinguished.
