Node permission question

1. is it correct there is no option to copy node permission to other node? i could not find any.
2. i create a node as a Category, lets say "Forum 1". i set permission to "Forum 1". then i create a discussion node "Forum 1 Sub" under "Forum 1" Category.

"Forum 1 Sub" = permission set to "Inherit" in that case will "Forum 1 Sub" will use Category "Forum 1" permission?

3. what is sibling and child option? i could not understand.
4. lets say after create any node all forum group permission is set to "Inherit". in that case it will use global group permission right?

i am phpbb3 user...i am bit confused about the permission settings.

if i import phpbb3 data does user pass remain same?

Correct - there is no copy permissions function.

XF permissions are cumulative and inherit from parent nodes, so it isn't necessary to specifically set permissions for every user group and node combination.
