XF 2.2 Need some advice on how to do this (organize threads)

This one may be a bit odd. But I'm looking for some advice on how to do this. I have a forum dedicated to my local area. Apparently garage sales are a big deal around here, so naturally I have a garage sale node on the forum.

One of my members asked me if there was any way I could arrange all the threads in the "Garage Sales" node, by the weekday and the date that the garage sale will be held on. What they want to see, is all of the garage sales for Friday grouped together. Then all the ones for Saturday, and Sunday would be next.

I don't see how this can be done and still look organized. If anyone makes a post, it will bump the thread up to the top. Wouldn't that cause confusion?

So I'm assuming the thread title would look something like: Friday, 5-15-25 Garage Sale at 2112 Applecourt Dr

Should I turn off posting? Seems like it would be real nice if they could still post in the threads.

Or should I make 1 thread for each weekend, and inside that thread is like this:

FRIDAY - 1418 SERRY PLACE DR 76028
FRIDAY
FRIDAY
FRIDAY
FRIDAY
FRIDAY
FRIDAY
FRIDAY

SATURDAY - 1418 SERRY PLACE DR 76028

Any advice on how best to do this would be greatly appreciated! Thank you

Do it with thread prefixes for Friday, Sat etc do they can then filter by prefix.

Could it be setup to omit dates that have already passed? So for example, it would have 3 buttons at the top. One button says "FRIDAY" one says "SATURDAY" and one says "SUNDAY".

But when the user clicks the appropriate filter button, they wouldn't want it to display all the old Fridays. Only the current one/s. So they would only want it to show future ones.

And of course, that same day, if it was Friday.

You would probably then want to have an archive or “past events” sub node where you will need to manually moderate and move the old garage sale topics into. That way in the main node it remains current or latest garage sales

Sounds like a great idea but it does make me wonder... Who would care about old garage sales? Is it possible someone may want to contact the sellers, and ask if they still have a certain item?

Maybe all old garage sales should just be deleted.

You’d no do that if you wanted to archive them, otherwise yes, delete them
