does anyone have or can provide high-quality images to create bigger Navbar-buttons as per these examples:

similar to the big green buttons here:
http://www.bbsmiley.com

similar to the big orange buttons here:
http://www.handelsblatt.com

I am looking for those buttons to perfectly fit the default XF-colors, so having the colors "orange", "salmon", "blue", "light-blue", etc.
Also purple-colored buttons (HEX-color scheme: #6E329D / #7B157B) would be great.

Willing to pay.

Thanks!

:)

I can create image-gradients myself with Adobe-Fireworks, but mine do not look that very professional.... they just look average quality ;)
And I do not want to use CSS-gradients, since we want to have a fallback for older browsers, right ?

not if you use a image gradient as a fallback method then older browsers will use the image whilst the others will use the css gradient.

You can do image gradients with this. Make a CSS gradient, copy&pasta the page to paint and cut only the gradient out. Then do the trimming work with photoshop. However this only works for non-transparent gradients.
