I quite miss not having Inbox and Alerts on mobile.
In a previous bug report, I suggested something to save even more space. Excuse the crap mock up.
For the most part, unless you have an even longer name than I, this should enable you to have all functions available in the nav bar. Clicking on the Forums nav tab in this instance should bring up the nav tab drop down.
