Is it safe?
Are there any better scripts than this for backing up my databases on shared hosting?

Sypex Dumper is another script , dont know if it better.
Only thing i can tell: its very fast.

I've used them both. Sypex is way better and seamless as it integrates into the AdminCP

As far as I know there are no known security issues with mysqldumper 's latest version. I have been using it for quite a while and imho it is an excellent script. I have never had a single issue with it.
