looking for a MySQL Master-Slave solution, I was wondering, if anybody is running XenForo with PHPs mysqlnd_ms to do transparent splitting of read and write queries?

If so, I would be happy to hear your experience...

    Thanks in advance and regards,

You may use Galera for easy Master/Master replication.

I personally believe a master/slave setup is a bad idea... but that is just myself. Why not use a single server with xtrabackup for incremental backups performed every 3 hours? If you really want proper redundancy, you should look into GFS, MariaDB Galera Cluster or Vitess... is your site that big (i.e. 4 dedicated nodes for MySQL only)?
