Instead of using an addon, go directly use Sucuri Firewall.

This is now sorted. The existing hosting was a complete mess. Multiple XF installed all over the place, and the strangest setup I've seen getting the site to display. Using a .htaccess rewrite to load the forum in the document root, but the files were actually 3 folders deep. The existing hosting had MyISAM for all the database tables.

The site is now hosted with me, and all this has been fixed.
