It's going to involve removing floorboards and drilling ceilings o_O

I bought a house in Chelmsford years ago and it had two ethernet ports in every room.

A very random thing to find in a brand new house.

A few years ago I learned how to wire cat6 cable.
Now I just buy rolls of cat6 cable, add the ends, and I have a custom length cable :)
It's pretty easy.

Think about getting either or both of these ...

I'd love that! I was originally using powerline adapters to connect upstairs and downstairs, but even on "500mbps" was only really getting 4mb through put. I ran the cable under the carpet up the stairs.

I'm now going to be moving my NAS from the spare room to under the stairs, and having a switch in there to bridge upstairs and downstairs (I'm loosing my spare room in about 6 months) so need to find more suitable places for all my gear.
