XF 1.5 Moving PM into a Thread

I am a forum administrator. One of our users PM'ed me, asked me a question, and I replied, and thus began a series of about a dozen messages between us.

Today, I asked the user why he PM'ed me since the material would have been fine in a forum discussion and, indeed, might have been helpful and interesting to others. He said he just hit the wrong button and didn't even realize it was PM until I mentioned it.

Is there a way to move things, and/or is there a way for me to compose a forum message and then change the author and the date/time so that it matches the conversations in our PM?
