Yes! And my banner is locally uploaded. I wish I could increase the header area now (vertically). There appear to be no controls to do that in that area.

Appearance > Styles > Your style > Style properties > Header and navigation, play around with the padding settings.

All the padding options there are for the navigation areas. I increased the size of my logo, which increased the size of the header area. I will have to mess around with it more to achieve the look I am going for.
