Sometimes you need quick access to a thread from the past and bookmarks make it so easy to find.
For instance I have a thread about my motorcycles and every new season I had to hunt for it but bookmarks make it easy to find.
Watch would simply let me know when someone responds, it does nothing to help me find the thread at the beginning of the new season.
