I don't really understand what you are asking but in the resources side nav it's a standard widget.

the widgets which display the various stats of the members, I have just discovered them. I'm not talking about the members page but the widgets.



It's a widget named member_stats
and you can choose most_message, most_points, most_resource, etc...

My bad - I mixed up the member stats block with the widget.

But my original post is valid - activating the most resources member stat also displays it on the resources page in the sidenav.

Well, it was already activated and not displayed to the resource overview page. Certainly i have deleted it one day.
