Could you please:
  1. Download and install 1.0.32 (the latest version)
  2. Let me know if the installation completes correctly

If you still hit any issue, it would help me to know:

This update fixes a template compatibility issue affecting installation on some XenForo 2.3 setups.

Fixed:
  • 🛠️ Fixed an "Expected valid expression" error that could prevent installation on certain XenForo 2.3 configurations.
  • 📦 Ensured the gallery JavaScript is fully bundled in the release package (lightbox, layout switcher and audio equalizer now load reliably on all installs).

Thank you! Good news: version 1.0.32 fixed the original template error. The new error ("template is unknown") means the previous failed installation left some templates missing — the add-on is registered but the templates weren't imported because the old install was interrupted.

Could you please do a clean reinstall:
  1. Go to Admin CP → Add-ons → Mosaic PRO → Uninstall
  2. Then install version 1.0.32 fresh
A clean install with 1.0.32 will import all templates correctly (the syntax error that blocked it before is now fixed). Let me know how it goes! 🙏

Thank you for the feedback and bug reports! This update resolves a few issues reported after the first release.

Fixed:
  • 🗺️ Fixed a template error ("Filter round is unknown") that appeared when opening a media item with GPS location data. Maps and coordinates now display correctly.
  • 🖼️ Fixed the gallery behaviour when the lightbox is disabled: clicking a photo now opens its media page correctly, instead of showing an empty overlay.

The reported template installation issue, which occurred in some XF 2.3 configurations, has been fixed in version 1.0.32. If you're still seeing it after updating, let me know your XenForo and PHP version and I'll look into it.

The add-on is developed and tested on Debian 11 / PHP 8.3. With the number of XenForo point releases and the huge variety of server environments out there (Cloud included), it's not possible to test every combination before release — which is exactly why the first feedback helps me catch the edge cases and fix them quickly, as I did here.

Fix

This release fixes an installation error that could occur on certain XenForo/PHP configurations. A template expression compiled correctly on some builds but was rejected on others during the install process, causing the installation to fail with an "Expected valid expression" error.

The affected expressions have been rewritten to use template syntax that compiles consistently across environments. No database changes are involved in this update.

Trial license recovery

If a trial had already been issued for your domain, requesting a new one returned "trial already used" with no way to retrieve the existing key. The trial request now recovers your existing license automatically and activates it, so you're no longer stuck if you lost the serial after a reinstall.

If the recovered license can't be activated (for example because your Board URL no longer matches the licensed domain), the serial is now shown to you along with the...

Hi,

You can change the button colours from your style's extra.less template (Admin CP → Appearance → Templates → extra.less). This way your changes survive add-on updates, unlike editing the add-on's own template.

Paste this and replace #3498db with the colour you want. The --mosaic-accent line at the top covers several elements automatically (TV controls, category sidebar, progress bars), so keep it in sync with the colour you choose.
