Minor / Major resource update alerts

I'd like to suggest two update statuses - minor (for very small updates - one's with limited fixes that might not affect everyone) and major (where features change and/or it is advisable that everyone updates).

Allow members to "watch" both statuses and receive and alert when one (or both) are updated.

This would allow people to only watch for major updates if they're only interested in feature changes.

Cheers,
Shaun :D

NB: Wording and number of statuses optional - maybe more if there's a case for it?

If the resource is updated correctly then it will alert those watching it.

Existing updates should never be edited to change version numbers.

What is being suggested is an option when updating to mark it as "major" or "minor", then allowing those watching the resource to choose whether they are alerted to major updates only or for minor updates too.

This would allow add-on authors to release versions with very minor fixes that probably aren't necessary for many users, yet giving the update for any who may encounter an issue and of course for new users. Then only those following minor alerts would see the update alert. It would save users getting lots of update alerts if a resource is often updated.

I'll leave the argument about how often to release updates with fixes etc to those who actually write add-ons. :D
