Milestone Announcement

Just curious to know your thoughts on this. At what number of registered members do you think it's good to make the first milestone announcement? Do you even think it's necessary to make such announcements in the first place?

Whatever you want. 100, 500, 1000, 5000, 10.000, are the most common ones.

Personally worrying about announcing milestones is silly.
There are better things to worry about.

You can make an announcement and celebrate when you reach 100 members, 1,000 members or whenever you feel like it.

I have never done it for members. I tend to do it every year when the site is one year older. I also plan to do it when the site has reached a high even number of not deleted posts.

Anniversary announcement is about it; member or post count generally are unimportant long term, so there is no real purpose to it.
