I run world's leading social learning community focused on business education .

We are using vbulletin forum v3.8.3 to power our forums. It's customized with few plugins and add on - VBSEO 3.6.0

For everything else, we're using socialengine v3.x and plugins with some customizations which include userprofiles, articles, blogs, file share system, events, jobs etc.

I was looking at migrating both systems and all data into a single xenforo install.

Is it possible? How do you suggest I go about the entire process?

Look forward to hear your thoughts. Thanks in Advance.

    Would Appreciate any help.

There is a built in importer for VB3.8 which would import all of the basic content such as forums, members, threads, posts, etc.
There's a screenshot here of what is imported: https://xenforo.com/community/threads/pre-sales-faq.4951/

There's nothing for socialengine so you would need a third party solution for that.

Thanks Brogan, do you have a recommended list of solution providers to contact?

There might be data in customized fields in vbulletin that xenforo might not be able to fetch by default. I might require some expert to help me with the entire process. Do you offer it yourself or can suggest some person/company?

Unable to find anyone who reliable who can do this for us. It'd be great if you guys came up with a convertor.

Speaking with the IPB guys now for a custom service.

Have you contacted @Slavik or @Jake Bunce? They are some of the main import specialists around here. I think @Claudio is known for big boards import too - I'm sure many more that I'm not remembering.

Hi James, Yes I did speak with @Slavik but he seemed to be over-loaded with work. Also we couldn't reach to many aspects of the migration.

@Claudio , We already connected on skype and you were to discuss with your team and get back but that slipped. Feel free to re-initiate the conversation

Will connect with Jake and see how it goes :)

    Hi Kartik,

Before you select developers, you should do some research and planning into what you will import where. I see on your site you have Blogs, Directory Listings for Institutes, articles, communities, events, jobs etc. All of these content will have to be mapped to one or more addons. AMS by @Bob is a candidate, there's a directory list addon etc.

Whoever you hire, will have to import content from each of your custom section into an addon. That will require a fair amount of planning for mapping what goes where. Then there's the question of getting a matching template and arranging things so members find things familiar.

All in all, it would be an interesting job... :)

I wish you all the best!
