Migrating 2 sites from IWP to Wordpress

I'm looking to hire someone to work on moving the front end application (Articlelive/IWP now dead-ended development-wise) of a couple of my older sites to Wordpress (I think I finally decided to go with that application). But I hesitate to throw this work request randomly on a Freelancer-for-hire website. I guess it has something to do with entrusting a total stranger with the content I have been slowly putting together since 2003.

I know, I'm just being paranoid...

Is there a Wordpress guru here? Do let's talk via PM.

Regards!

Importing guru would probably be Jake.
But I expect that would be expensive.
Expensive would be beyond my pocket. Affordable? Sure. Thanks for chipping in.
I remember Articlelive.

When it was released I thought it was good.
It was great. Of 5 licenses I purchased, only 2 are still in use now and I have to go back to the Wordpress I looked down on so many years ago when I paid through the nose to buy Articlelive. Guess no news there.

Now I remember Interspire.

I looked hard at that program, but felt it was probably too much work for admins in the end. I especially liked being able to use vBulletin 3.5 as a comment system for the articles.

I see lots of FreeLance sites doing IWP to Wordpress migrations.

Yap, tells you how long I've been contemplating the move and fishing around for options before finally choosing Wordpress. The "lots" of sites you see is pretty much the same post duplicated all over by one person also looking to bail out. Who kills a beautiful thriving application like that?

Thanks for responding though. I will take it to vWorker (formerly Rentacoder), my last resort, where I have had work done successfully in the past. Maybe the same guys will be be able to recommend someone. Cheers!

I have done several imports from Wordpress, but not to Wordpress. You will probably have better luck posting on a Wordpress site.
