XF 2.1 Merging threads question

I want to merge a few members threads but I want my post to be the first post on that thread to explain rules etc. is this possible? If so, how?

Ok, so I figured out a way...

1. I created a new thread; the very first post I want to display in the merged threads.
2. Then I used this add-on to change the date to an older date, one that's older than all of the merged threads: https://xenforo.com/community/resources/change-post-date-by-xon.6077/
3. Then I merged all threads.
