XF 2.0 Menu Hover

Is there an option to change all or some of the drop downs in XF2 to drop down on hover vs click?

I believe you use to be able to hover to reveal a menu such as alerts but now you need to click to see the alerts.

Only a small thing but wanted to see if there is an option to re enable that.

Any ideas appreciated.

There is no option for it - it's a design change for XF2 (from XF1).

Was there a rationale from a UI / UX perspective as to why click vs hover was chosen?

The developers have spoken at length about it, on the xf2 demo site and here.

If you do a search you may be able to find some of their posts regarding it.

I missed this at the time and a lot of our users are now complaining that the hover on alerts is "broken". What was the rationale for the change?

Anyone got a fix for this?

I'm finding the tiny tap targets of the arrows on the navigation really annoying for the normal site nav menus on the left. Would rather bring back drop down on hover for that part of the nav.

I feel it hinders discoverability of content that could easily reached by better visibility of sub menus hidden behind the tiny arrow.

To be clear, I'm talking about the text menus on the left only, not the message or alerts icon or any menu that could clear any notifications or state by accidentally hovering.

I am getting stick fro some members now that they have to click to get the dropdown menus instead of just hovering to see them. It also means to get to account details you need to click twice. An addon to solve this issue would be great, can anyone do this?
