[MC] Infinite Scroll

[MC] Infinite Scroll 1.0.2

No permission to download
Matt C. updated [MC] Infinite Scroll with a new update entry:

1.0.1 Released

  1. Added: New option to prevent the user's new reply from being inserted in the middle of a thread. This only applies if there are more pages in the thread to load. Users will receive an AJAX notification indicating their reply has been posted. If the user is at the last page of the thread, default reply behavior will resume.
  2. Fix: Code clean up and efficiency improvements

Does this work on search forums?

Not currently, but I'll get that added in the near future.

Hello. So there are no issues with this now, and it’s safe to enable the add-on?

I added a new option to prevent users new reply from being inserted in the middle of the thread. This behavior is much cleaner when infinite scrolling is enabled.

This is an option currently, to gather feedback on the implementation. Will most likely make this default in a future release.

Next release will include support for search forums. Overlooked this because frankly I don't use it. @Lee

Also, I can't remember who requested it, but I'm currently working on a button to play/pause infinite scrolling.

I currently have it working on my forum. Testing it out and will release in the next couple days.

Just a quick one. We've got it scrolling OK, out of the box. But, we use the Siropu Ads Manager Lite to show an ad after every 5th post. This is only happening on the first 'page', ie after posts 5, 10 and 15. I'm not sure whether this is your issue or Siropu? Cheers, Chris.

I have not tested it with Siropu Ads Manager, but ads need to be wrapped in a infinite-scroll-container div to appear.

And FYI, AdSense is not supported, and will NOT be added.

Oh well, never mind.

Would it be possible to fully break out of infinite scrolling so that you have the page numbers, Similar threads and so on instead of just pausing.
And then maybe a resume infinite scrolling button next to the page numbers, when a user want that again?

It would be like when you press reply on a post in the earlier versions, infinite scroll is gone and you hava a resume loading button. But without the reply box, a Stop infinite scroll button, instead of a Pause?

Let me look into it.

Matt C. updated [MC] Infinite Scroll with a new update entry:

1.0.2 Released

  • Change: 'Resume loading' button is now 'Resume scrolling'. Phrase can be changed.
  • Change: Bottom pagination is now always visible.
  • Change: Reorganized and renamed options slightly
  • Added: Pause button is now available inside page dividers, so users may pause infinite scrolling if they need to access pagination or other reasons. Pause button will not show up on the last page. Once the user hits pause, the resume scrolling button will appear at the bottom. This change...

In threads with many pages, you can no longer write a reply until you've obligatorily read all the pages.
A disaster!

Either you add some buttons or you have to find a way to reply if you want without reading all the old messages

I think it is a bug, all the links in the bottom of the posts are gone.
Give him some time to fix it.

I have found that if you uncheck the option "Prevent user's new reply from being inserted in middle of the thread" the reply link and the others are visible again.

I've been mentioned this before, but I highly recommend using this add-on to have a sticky reply button.

Screenshot? I'm not seeing this issue on my end.

Sorry, tested again. And now everything seems to be working. Don't know what happened the first time.
