There was a similar feature in MG1.1.17 (with a button). This is not available anymore in MG 2.1.rc2.
My suggestion would be to implement in the future the ability that an image is getting at the maximum viewing size by double clicking on it (and add a note or button under the image for this, so users do see it)
Personally, I prefer maximum viewing size over lightbox. Others might think differently But maybe it could be offered both again?
