XF 1.5 Manually changing passwords.

When attempting to manually change members passwords via the admin panel. I select users, choose the target user, input a temp password and hit the change password button. On some occassions the system confirms that it has saved the changes, however, on other occassions it does not and the password remain as previous. can anybody advise please.

Are there any errors in the console when that happens? Any server error log at the time?

Ask your host to install the iconv extension.

hi,

we were on PHP version 5.6 would increasing it to version 7 resolve the iconv issue.

Not sure, but it would not hurt to upgrade to version 7 of php. But I feel the host is going to have to install iconv.

Hi,

we have went into our WHM client and within easy appache 4 installed iconv for PHP 5.5, 5.6 and 7. we have just tried to request a password reset and it worked ........ you are a superstar. We have received the reset password email and are just about to try the password out ......... ok , it works a treat.

Not a problem, glad to help. I should have noticed it was iconv earlier, it would have saved a bit of time.
