Lack of interest Make quote tags more useful

I tried to use something like "Quote=the OP, Post #1" and everything after the comma was removed. I'd also like to be able to specify a clickable weblink e,g, "Quote=http://www.wikipedia.com" and that doesn't work either. So, even Post #1 could have an underlying weblink.

In help forums, I think these enhancements would be useful.

with plain tags

shows up as

Doesn't work without the quotes either.

The member key is used when ignoring a member, it will hide the quotes from them. And I believe in alerting the member, I would have to look it up.

You shouldn't be able to use BBCode within this portion of the tag, the option isn't run through the necessary parser (if I remember correctly). You would need an add-on to accomplish allowing links in this section.

I typically quite some other website and using the website there would be appropriate. The only thing allowed seems to be text.

Why do you think I put it in the suggestion section?

That "shouldn't" wasn't meant to say that your suggestion was wrong. I believe I misread your previous post incorrectly and the "shouldn't" was more or less that you shouldn't be able to accomplish it as it stands.

Correct. I can't do it as it stands, but I would like to; hence a SUGGESTION.

I took the earlier comment by Mr. Hood, that I had the syntax wrong; which wasn't the point.

I agree, it would not be a priority. Getting CODE to work properly would be. It should be a fixed proportion font, like Courier.
