XenForo does allow to set certain threads noindex based on various criteria.
This is a great feature to keep indexed data clean, however links to noindexed threads are still being displayed normally.
This might be wasteful if there are more than a few threads that are noindexed as crawlers will crawl those pages just to find out tey are not indexable which does waste crawling budget.
I therefore suggest to make all links to noindexed threads nofollow.
