Does anyone have any tips for people who do logo design? I am struggling with mine - it looks naff.

Mine cost C$50 from a pro designer that I know from work (it was her going rate for a logo in 2014). Might be worth the time and investment to find one if you're not graphically talented yourself. I am pretty good at layout but suck when it comes to editing and creating images beyond basic cropping and resizing.
