XF 1.3 Location

How can I set the location from text to drop-down menu that include cities ?

Create a custom user field in place of the default one.

Otherwise it would require custom development.

I thought I could create a custom user field .But even if, the location field will be active.
I have a few custom user fields with drop-down menu. If I know which template include them, may be I can convert the location field to drop-down menu using the similar codes.
Could you tell me ?
