Licenses include 12 months of ticket support and updates. Once those 12 months are up, you will be unable to receive ticket support or updates released after your license expired, but you can still use the software - the license is perpetual.
What do you mean? If you mean earning as in doing something and getting free time, that isn't possible. Perhaps later events will give away licences as prizes or for doing something, but as of now that's not the case.
You can renew your licence by "purchasing extras" in your customer area and selecting the $40 option to renew.
