License extension + Adding new 1st Party Add On Later

I want to renew my XF with XF/XFMG, but feel I may need ES later this year.

Say I renew XF/XFMG now.

I know I'd get the two for $70 from this day forward for ~365 days.

However, if 9 months in and I add ES... do I pay $55 and get ES for 3 months or 12 months (I'd likely not want to install a newer ES if it did come out unless it was backward compatible)? Or is it pro-rated at that time and expire at the time of the license (3 months)?

Thanks. Not really a huge issue, with renewals being cheaper, just had to clarify or to see if it's prorated or something.
