XF 1.4 Lengthening Forum Descriptions

Stupid question- but I looked and cannot find it.

I imported, and my forum descriptions are too short- looks like a 50 character limit.
So they come out like this:

SITE RULES & POLICIES (Please Read These Rules BEF

part missing.

What setting lengthens this to 75 or 100?

I can't find anything in the default software or importer to explain a limit of 50 characters on forum descriptions.

This might be due to an addon (try disabling addons) or custom style (try using the default style). Otherwise there is no such character limit on forum descriptions.

Go to Application>Node Tree (in AdminCP)
then try to extend the phrase "SITE RULES & POLICIES (Please Read These Rules BEF"

and I get:

The following error occurred:
Title:
Please enter a value using 50 characters or fewer.

I need to make that 75 or 100 so the whole message from my VB forum displays.

Do you mean the title or the description?

It looks like you are editing the title based on the above.

Both titles and descriptions are cut-off from the import from my VB forum. How do I override the 50 character limit on both?

If they have already been truncated during the import, it won't be possible to recover the missing content.
You will have to add it manually or redo the import.

I can't. It won't allow more than 50 characters- that is the issue.

Titles are limited to 50 characters.

As Jake posted above, there is no limit on descriptions.
