Keeping threads with no responses at the top of "new posts"

The majority of people visiting my forum are looking for help. The problem is that many times a lot of these threads go unanswered. I found this is largely due to the fact that a good amount of my members browse the "New Posts" section, and they also use the "Latest Posts" widget in the sidebar.

I think a good idea to make sure the unanswered posts don't go unanswered would be a way of having the unanswered posts stay at the top of the "new posts" page (and sidebar widget) until they've gotten a response.

Does anyone know of an add-on that does something like this?

I just hate for these posts to often times get buried, go unanswered, and then have the member never come back because they think there's a "lack of activity".

But wouldn't you then have the problem of other posts being buried, the ones with answers that might help others that will then get buried? If nothing else, it would no longer be true that people would be seeing the actual latest posts, which they would expect when looking at "Latest Posts," which I imagine would be confusing for some.

Do you have a forum/node dedicated to questions? You could create a default prefix for it, such as "Question," so that every thread in the node would have it, and then a separate widget to display the "Latest Questions" or whatever you want to call it. Or create optional Question & Answered prefixes for some or all nodes, which can then be filtered the usual ways by users.

All very good points. That one from Theme House may be the ticket for what I'm looking for. I'm essentially just trying to have a way for unanswered questions or threads to stay prominent over the others, that way they don't go unanswered.

Of course I'm not sure of the best way to do this, but that Theme House one as I mentioned may be what I need.
