XF 2.2 Keeping notifications alive

I have a node where nobody is getting notifications, it's a mod only forum so this is problematic.

From searching around it sounds like notifications could stop being sent if a user has not visited that thread/forum in awhile. How do I reset that? Can I just turn that off so it always notifies no matter how long it's been?

It’s not related to them not visiting for a certain amount of time, it’s based on not visiting after a notification. They would have got an initial notification which included the information that if they don’t visit the thread they will not get any more notifications.

It makes sense as there is an assumption they have no interest in the thread if they don’t respond to the notification.

I’m not sure I’ve ever seen one of those, where would that show?

If they were on daily sure, but if they go on vacation or get deployed it just cuts them off.

Do you know how it works if….somebody goes on vacation after following a hot topic, they have 50 notifications waiting for them when they get back and click 1 and get themselves caught up.

Does clicking the 1 void the other 49?

Would not clicking the other 49 make remove them from notices?

If they ‘mark as read’ those 49 does that remove them or will they keep getting notifications?

Not trying to pepper you, just curious

In the email. Sorry I did not make it clear I was referring to email notifications.

That's when Xon's addon becomes useful, but then you deal with getting flooded with loads of emails/alerts.

The software is not magic enough to know when you users are on vacation :)

Sorry no I don't. I have always presumed that if you open that latest one that should get you back on alerts, but maybe you do need to mark all read.

You may need to do some testing or wait for someone with more knowledge than I have.
