Fixed JS animations are slow / glitchy

Both pages are in Chrome (latest version).
Left 2.3 and right 2.2.x

When you click, it takes a while for the menu to open. That's rubbish.

In addition, the system starts to spin if you use it excessively. Although the checkbox on the left is unchecked, the subcontent is visible.

This behaviour is everywhere! This option is just one example.
